The Tube-Tech SMC-2B stereo multiband compressor is based entirely on tube technology, giving your mix a high-quality vintage master touch. Adjustable X-Over frequencies ensure precise control over all three bands of the opto-compressor. Threshold, ratio, attack, release and gain are separately adjustable in each band.The Tube-Tech SMC 2B Stereo Multiband Compressor features three independent stereo optical compressors. The signal is distributed to three bands (low, mid and high) by crossovers with a slope of 6 dB/octave at variable application frequency (60 - 1,200 Hz for the low/mid band and 1.2 - 6 kHz for the mid/high band).Due to the design of the crossovers, the summation of the three bands is so optimal that the combined signal has a very straight frequency response (deviation of +/- 0.25 dB) when the gain controls are set to zero in each band. The three compressor units have controls for threshold, ratio, attack, release and gain and also offer a visual indication of the level reduction. The master level offers output gain and balance control. Inputs and outputs are balanced and have completely earth-free transformers with electrostatic shielding. Power supply and sidechain circuitry are based on a solid state circuit. With the exception of the output stage, all DC voltages are stabilised.
