A small diaphragm is the right choice when it comes to natural and detailed recordings. For this reason, small-diaphragm microphones are used almost exclusively for classical music. Due to the even directional characteristic, they are ideally suited for stereo microphone systems, for example as overheads on drums or when recording piano and grand piano.
