Emotion in technical perfection. This is the standard with which Neumann has designed the Broadcast Line microphones. The fine tuning for professional speech studios and the independent, function-optimised design* give these microphones an individual character.When it comes to the undistorted reproduction of speech and music, the BCM 104 with its large-diaphragm cardioid condenser capsule is the first choice. Among other things, this is due to the flat frequency response up to 3 kHz, a smooth boost above this frequency and the excellent impulse response. Internal switches can be used to compensate for proximity effect and reduce sensitivity by 14 dB. Whether news, talk shows, radio plays or music recording, the BCM 104 can be used for a wide range of applications.Mechanical features:The microphone basket can be removed with a simple turn and is therefore quick to clean. Optionally, colour-coded baskets are available so that, for hygienic reasons among other things, each speaker can use his or her own individual basket at a presenter's workstation that is used several times. In front of the capsule, a fine gauze is mounted on a frame holder, which acts as an integrated pop screen.The microphones of the Broadcast Line have a body-sound decoupled suspension, which is compatible with the common microphone arms from the broadcast sector.Acoustical properties:The K 04 large diaphragm capsule in the wire mesh basket of the microphone has a flat frequency response up to 3 kHz. The higher frequencies are boosted by up to 2 dB.Since no resonance effects are used to achieve the above-mentioned microphone characteristics, the impulse response of the microphone is excellent and it is capable of transmitting all compensating processes in music and speech without degradation.The integrated pop screen:The pop screen not only has the task of suppressing pop sounds during speech recordings. It also efficiently prevents unwanted particles, from the moisture of the breath to nicotine and food residues, from depositing on the diaphragm. The pop shield can be removed without tools for cleaning.
