The ISA 828 II is a high-quality eight-channel microphone preamplifier and can be used for microphones, line-level signals or instruments. Microphones and line-level sources for all 8 channels are connected at the rear, instruments directly on the front (input 1-4 only). On the front you will also find level controls and further adjustment options for e.g. phantom power and input impedance for each of the eight inputs. The LED chain of each channel displays the level in dBFS to indicate the maximum level of the signal for the following digital range. To transfer the pristine Focusrite quality into the digital domain, an optional eight-channel converter card can be installed - AES, S/PDIF or ADAT signals can be connected directly to your DAW. The word clock sample rate and sync source can then be set from the front panel.Eight Classic Preamps & Unique A/D ConvertersEach channel of the new Focusrite ISA828 has the classic mic preamps of the legendary Focusrite Forte mixer - considered by many to be the best-sounding console ever built. (We use the console's exquisite ISA110 modules in all their glory, along with the original Lundahl LL1538 transformer and the bespoke Zobel Network.)Yet these days, imperishable pre-amp circuitry alone is no longer enough for us.To interface just as sophisticatedly with professional digital audio workstations, we've developed a new eight-channel A/D converter - which outperforms any other available. Sample rate up to 192 kHz, signal-to-noise ratio -122 dBF and jitter <250 picoseconds. Connection to current DAWs is via a convenient 25-pin D-sub.Focusrite sets a new standard for professional microphone amplification and A/D conversion with the ISA828.The eight microphone inputs are complemented by eight line and four instrument inputs. Optionally, a 192 kHz A/D conversion unit can be added to all eight channels, exceeding all specifications of other available converters. Thanks to the convenient 25-pin D-sub connectors with industry-standard pinout, the ISA828 II can be quickly integrated, e.g. seamlessly with ProTools HD systems or other popular recorders or mixers. The microphone input stage allows the selection of four different impedances, in addition to the original ISA110 setting, the impedance can be matched to any microphone or creatively varied. As a comprehensive DI solution, four instrument inputs with impedance selection (high/low) are available on the front.Individually switchable inserts for each channel allow the integration of analogue processors. High-quality high-pass filters are also integrated into each channel. The optional eight-channel 192 kHz converters feature absolute cutting-edge technology and integration with Focusrite s surrounding dedicated analogue circuitry. This achieves unrivalled performance with noise floor of -122 dBF and jitter <250 picoseconds. Finally, each channel includes a calibratable input level meter with 6 LEDs to allow independent accurate level control directly at the front-end.Focusrite ISA 828 MK IIDhe ISA 828 II is a high quality eight-channel microphone preamplifier and can be used for microphones, line-level signals or instruments.
