The Palmer vils has two unbalanced RCA inputs. To connect to the laptop's headphone output, you can use a standard Y-cable with a 3.5 mm jack plug. The vils sums both stereo channels to mono, so you only need one free microphone input for connection to the sound system.

Due to its passive operation, it does not require a power supply; a resistor network and a transformer, which simultaneously balances the signal, ensure optimum adjustment of level and impedance.
