Under the name PRO MEDIA DI/ PLI04, Palmer introduces a DI box that was developed for the special requirements in the media sector. With its help, PCs and other consumer devices with unbalanced outputs can be easily connected to a professional sound system with balanced inputs, e.g. in the context of a presentation. The PLI04 provides the usual input sockets for this requirement, TRS jacks that accept both mono and stereo plugs, RCA sockets and a 3.5 mm stereo mini jack input, e.g. to connect headphone outputs of laptops. On the output side, there are XLR/m sockets with transformer-balanced wiring, which are common for professional systems. This provides galvanic isolation, a prerequisite for noise-free operation. As a special feature, it should be mentioned that although the PLI04 is designed for stereo operation, mono summing is possible by means of a switch and the output signal is then present on both XLR outputs. Apart from that, the box delivers the high quality you are used to from Palmer, which manifests itself in mechanical robustness and outstanding technical data.
