Twisted Electrons ACID8 MKII
The heart of Acid8 is an 8-bit oscillator that can be manipulated to the extreme. The compact Frenchman has 16 waveforms, 4 of which can be individually edited in an editor. Up to 5 DSP effects are used. The bits of the digital signal can be inverted to create interesting harmonies and effects. An envelope modulation of the pitch is suitable for the creation of percussive and other unusual sounds, which further distinguish Acid8 from common imitations of the usual suspicious ones. Behind the digital oscillator, the signal path is 100% analogue and features a powerful VCA and a dirty to coarse sounding, resonant low-pass filter.
The integrated step sequencer has all the functions you would expect from an acid machine and is very easy to use. Thanks to MIDI Out, it can also be used with external hardware. Functions like editing, copy & paste or pattern randomizer work in real time while the sequencer is running. An 8-step swing provides the right groove. Settings for waveforms and swing are saved within the patterns.
