All faders and knobs are labelled with standard instrument parameter assignments, which are consistent regardless of the DAW used. 2 Clip and Scenes LED buttons provide a much better workflow in clip-based DAWs such as Bitwig. The mixer and instrument preset buttons now also have LEDs to make it clearer which mode is currently selected. A Page button allows another user set of parameter assignments to be available in parallel with Nektar's unique DAW integration. With this alone, the LX49+, like its predecessor, can convince all along the line.
What makes it unrivalled in this price range, however, is its direct, in-depth connection to all common DAW programs such as Logic Pro X, Cubase (all versions), Nuendo, Studio One, Reason, Bitwig Studio, Garage Band, Reaper, Sonar, FL Studio and Digital Performer. By simply pressing a button, you get direct access to the mixer of the respective DAW and to the instruments and effects integrated there, regardless of whether they are internal or third-party plug-ins. All parameters are already sensibly assigned. Such direct control is not possible with any other USB keyboard and offers an incomparable workflow independent of the preferred software. For the perfect start, a free download of Bitwig 8-Track is already included.
