In cooperation with the high quality AAAA European spruce top, the D-53 Premium sets sonic standards in terms of volume and complexity All Lakewood pickup models are equipped with the "Anthem System" by L.R. Baggs. This is a high-quality dual pickup system. On the one hand, there is a conventional piezo pickup in the bridge, which is complemented by a microphone inside the guitar. This mic is firmly mounted in a small housing under the guitar's top, making it conspicuously low in feedback. The control unit of the system is located in the sound hole area of the guitar. There you can adjust the overall volume as well as the proportion of the microphone. There are no tone controls, as this system reproduces the natural sound of Lakewood guitars exceptionally well.
