The Lava U is the optimal travel and outdoor ukulele

Thanks to the use of robust and weatherproof materials, it can withstand temperatures from -20°C to +60°C and humidity from 10% to 90%. The body and neck of the Lava U are made of AirSonic carbon (carbon fibre), a lightweight material with very good sound characteristics. Its fingerboard is made of High Pressure Laminate (HPL), which hardly differs from real wood in terms of appearance and sound. The nut and bridge inlay are made of TUSQ, a synthetic bone with a uniform structure and very good sound characteristics. It is strung with Crystal strings developed by Lava Music. This consistent use of hi-tech materials conserves natural resources and protects endangered tropical forests.

The highlight of the Lava U is the Freeboost pickup and the BreatheNet Bionic of the top

The Freeboost technology of the pickup uses the body of the ukulele as a speaker. This means it has a built-in amp with effects (reverb, delay, chorus). If it needs to get louder, there is a jack output with which you can control an amp or a mixer. The pickup is charged without batteries via a USB connection. With the BreatheNet Bionic soundboard, Lava Music has found a way for the soundboard of the Lava U to expand intuitively. Using mechanical simulations and algorithms, Lava Music has developed a bionic structure consisting of 142 parts that move organically, creating a bright and clear sound.

The idea for Lava Music was born on the campus of the Musicians Institute of California in Los Angeles. Lu Zitian, graduate of the MIC and founder of Lava Music, had the vision to combine modern technology and innovative design in one instrument. The instruments of Lava Music embody this vision.
