Phosphor Bronze is an alloy consisting of 92% copper and 8% tin with traces of lead, iron, zinc and phosphorus. These strings produce a bright but slightly warmer sound than the 80/20 bronze. The phosphorus in the alloy makes their fresh sound last longer.Coated strings have a very thin coating on the wound strings. Thanks to the coating, it takes longer for dirt and dust to settle between the windings of the strings. Coated strings therefore last up to four times longer than conventional strings.
