The Austrian manufacturer Thomastik Infeld can look back on a tradition of more than 100 years of producing strings for instruments such as guitars. Dr. Thomastik's patent for the production of stainless steel flatwound strings was granted in 1914 and even before the Second World War Thomastik strings were in great demand in the USA and England due to their unrivalled high quality.
The present strings build on this long experience; they are nickel roundwounds with a silk inlay for the bass strings. This produces a warm, overtone-rich sound that is ideal for old blues or R'n'B and also harmonises very nicely with a slightly üoverdriven amp.
