The Super Distortion offers the perfect blend of power and tone: single notes and chords jump out of the amp föly and fill the room (or recording track) with a real board. The tonal balance is classically thick with boosted mids, powerful bass and fat highs. This is the sound you know from platinum records by guitarists as different as Ace Frehley, Al Di Meola or Paul Gilbert from meanwhile three decades. The pickup is also versatile: thanks to the four-core wiring, Strat-like splits and serial-parallel modes can be realised without any problems. Discover what thousands and thousands of great guitarists already know: The Super Distortion is the best all-round high gain pickup ever.
Recommended for: The Super Distortion is primarily intended for the bridge position, although it is also suitable for the neck position with relatively low gain amps. Specifically designed for solid bodies: Full and half resonance guitars are difficult to control with these warm sounding, high output pickups.
Tech Talk: Originally, the first Super Distortions had only one wire. In the four-wire version it is extremely versatile. The coil splitting produces a very Strat-like sound in terms of tone and output. The parallel wiring is similar to the splitting, but the pickup still works as a humbucker with a somewhat hollow sound: During his time with Racer X, Paul Gilbert used two Super Distortions in parallel.
