It was actually a mature invention that Schaller brought to the market in 1981. The guitar strap was attached to the guitar with a snap lock - no accidental falls, no broken headstocks. And yet it was only almost perfect. With the advent of luxurious straps made of thick leather, it was sometimes difficult to fasten the mechanism. On top of that, the parts sometimes made rattling noises that carried over to the amp. The redesigned S-Locks put an end to such problems. The base has been lengthened, on which a patented Rändel screw with a special thread can be tightened by hand. Actually, this procedure would be sufficient for normal requirements. However, the designers played it safe and fitted the cap nut with a 2mm grub screw with which it can be fixed to the threaded base.
