Besides the "normal" Holy Grail and its derivatives with additional features, Electro Harmonix presents a second reverb reduced to the essentials. The difference to its twin brother: Instead of a Flerb effect, a mixed sound of flanger and reverb, the NEO has a plate reverb. This means that the guitarist has the three standard reverbs at his disposal, spring, plate and room reverb. And indeed, all too often it doesn't take more than that to give the listener the right sense of space.Despite digital conversion, the archaic reverbs in particular sound pleasingly authentic. The nano format gives the sparsely equipped NEO enough space and is sufficiently narrow to squeeze it onto the almost full pedalboard.
