RV stands for reverb. For more than thirty years, the manufacturer Boss, which can long be counted among the traditional brands, has been building reverbs in stompbox format. The first in its class was the RV-2, which saw the light of day in 1987. However, the terrain is also successfully ploughed by other manufacturers, TC, Digitech, Electro Harmonix, to name but a few. With the RV-500, Boss has created a top-of-the-line reverb pedal that can be used to create reverb standards as well as all kinds of creative effects and even recreate the sounds of Space Echo and Roland's SRV-2000. Dual mode allows two independent reverb algorithms to be used simultaneously, with both full-range or frequency-selective signals on each input for multi-layered sound results. A/B Simul mode also allows two RV-500 reverb patches to be used simultaneously, connected in series or parallel as desired, and as a mix or A/B split. Each patch also includes a full-featured digital delay, including modulation and EQ. In addition, the reverb and delay effects can be arranged in series or parallel per patch.Boss pedals have always been characterised by very clean signal processing. The noise level is close to zero, the effect processing is crystal clear and precise without being sterile.
