Walrus Audio is a manufacturer under whose umbrella tinkerers, artists and musicians have come together to put their idea of good sound into practice. That such boutique manufacturers have their very own approach to the subject is demonstrated once again by the designers from Oklahoma with the Monument pedal. A high-pass and low-pass version is generated from the incoming guitar signal and these versions are modulated against each other (180 offset, see graphic below). In other words: When the high-pass signal rises, the low-pass signal falls, etc.In contrast to the standard tremolo (volume modulation), in practice one signal is always heard. The tonal result is special (chewy & warm) and sometimes clearly different from a standard tremolo.Version 2 has been given a smaller housing with the connection sockets on top. On the side there is now a control input for external tempo information or the connection of an expression pedal.
