The effect types reverb and tremolo coupled in the Flint were already found decades ago as a fixed component of various tube amps with a silver or black face. Both sounds sound warm and authentic and the combination of both makes the guitar signal attractive for all those instrumentalists who are more interested in sensitive, characterful sounds far away from high-gain shredding.
Strymon has followed suit and released a whole series of popular pedals as V2 versions. On the hardware side, they have upgraded: Mono stereo is now switchable and a USB-C socket is installed as standard on all V2 pedals. The EXP jack can be used for MIDI processing. In addition, the speed control range of the Flint has been extended downwards. In this way, slow tremolos of the film music are not unworthy of a Tarantino classic.
