With its powerful tone generation technology and high-resolution, 4-inch colour touch display, the MX5 offers a wide range of amp models and effects in a variety of styles - from classic vintage styles to modern and exclusive boutique sounds. In addition, a virtually unlimited number of custom impulse response (IR) files can be loaded. MX5 also features a looper with store-and-load function and a studio-quality USB audio interface for professional recording and re-amping. The rugged and compact design of the unit features 3 footswitches equipped with individual RGB LEDs, an expression pedal (with adjustable voltage and built-in toe switch) and a generous number of inputs and outputs on the rear panel. These include a 6.35mm guitar input, a stereo pair of balanced 6.35mm outputs, a 3.5mm aux input, 3.5mm headphone output, MIDI I/O and a 6.35mm stereo FX loop. The stereo FX loop can be used to integrate external effects pedals that can be placed anywhere in the MX5 signal chain, and allows the connection of traditional guitar and bass amps via the four-cable method. The built-in USB port is useful for studio-quality recording or re-amping (up to 24-bit, 96kHz), transferring presets and loops, and installing feature updates published by the manufacturer.
