The M249 Overderive from MXR is a distortion pedal that adds extra bite to the basic sound. The MOSFET clipping diodes inside give the overdrive pedal a smooth purr that produces a wonderful clean boost when turned down and a vintage high-gain tone when turned up. The uncluttered control surface with controls for Output, Tone, Gain as well as a mini switch for Boost/Cut make it incredibly easy to get the sound you want by boosting the output signal with extra midrange or, conversely, to notch everything up.
