Roger Mayer's Tycobrahe Octavia was the inspiration for the Oktafuzz, a pedal that Jimi Hendrix already experimented with. The trick, and truly innovative in the 60s, is to add an octave upwards to a distorted signal, which gives the sound an idiosyncratic note.Fulltone has sought out historical models time and again, which is not always easy in the digital age, as the original components are often no longer available.With the Oktafuzz, the manufacturer succeeds in delighting not only retro fans. The pure distortion sound alone, far away from cold transistor sawing, is worth considering. Here, the floor pedal produces a lot of singing sustain, flexible and practical.
