AMT Electronics

With the Legend Amp series, AMT Electronics have set themselves the goal of reproducing important amplifier types in pedalboard format. The first letter of the model name indicates the direction: 'M' for Marshall, 'E' for Engl, 'F' for Fender and so on. Consequently, the 'R' stands for "Rectifier", those powerful bolides that enjoy unbridled popularity among guitarists of harder musical styles. The features of M2, E2, R2 etc. are essentially identical. Three differently dimensioned outputs, which can be tapped simultaneously, send the signal to an amp, a power amp or frequency-corrected to a linear input, as desired. What the pedals deliver in terms of sound, however, is remarkably authentic. What was positively noted for the M2 and E2 is also completely true for the Recto emulation. The typical brute, scooped metal sounds can be realised without any problems. The tone control intervenes effectively without spoiling the sound. No matter which setting, the part always sounds good somehow. When used as a preamp, the EQ also affects the clean sound, which can also be boosted via a small switch. The fact that the parts come from Omsk, a Siberian city that was a restricted military area for the Soviets, should only be mentioned in passing, because they really don't look "Russian". The design, workmanship and sound are just right.
