The Japanese manufacturer Zoom recognised early on the importance of digital technology for the development of effects and amplifier technology; so it was only logical that the Zoom 9002, one of the first digital multi-effects signal processors for electric guitar, came onto the market in 1990.
This MS-60B, like its big brother the B3n, is aimed at bassists who appreciate the flexibility of multi-effects but don't want to do without the simple settings of analogue floor pedals, as well as at those of us who either have little space on the pedalboard or rarely use bass effects and don't need several, possibly expensive pedals for this. For this purpose, they may need or want to buy several, possibly expensive pedals. Another target group are beginners on the bass or at least newcomers in the world of sound changing effects who would like to know what is available.
The MS-60B is designed like a single effect pedal; with a footswitch you can activate or deactivate effects or, depending on the setting, you can scroll through the presets. A foot switch activates or deactivates effects or switches through the presets depending on the setting, several knobs above and buttons around it allow you to edit the device and its many options and parameters in an intuitive way. You can switch 4 of the 50 effects together in any combination, and the unit also offers all kinds of useful tools such as a chromatic tuner, compressor and limiter functions. In combination with the sturdy die-cast housing, this results in a valuable little helper for almost every musical situation.
