More than 40 years ago, in 1982, the first guitar with the Squier by Fender label appeared on the market. At that time, the Californians had moved production to Japan because of manufacturing problems in Fullerton. At that time, the first Squier vintage instruments were created, which were distinguished by their high quality and are very sought after by collectors today.
Big companies like to celebrate such anniversaries. This sometimes results in very beautiful products, such as the 40th Anniversary Stratocaster. The look alone tells the prospective buyer that the brand has outgrown the purely entry-level segment. Golden hardware, a gold-coloured anodised pickguard and a flawless fretboard binding together with a fretboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays convey a noble overall impression to honour the anniversary appropriately.
The model is made of nato, a wood not unlike mahogany, which is known for its warm and round vibration behaviour. The pickups developed by Fender produce a sound rich in overtones, so that the instrument comes up with a Strat-typical sound.
