The Sun Valley is a modern guitar that, according to the manufacturer, was developed "for the shredder in every guitarist". The prerequisite for this is a slim neck with a flat fingerboard, on which cleanly dressed jumbo frets sit. In addition, there is the almost obligatory Floyd-Rose tremolo, which is known to acknowledge even excessive action with equanimity. Problems with detuning are almost nil. The pickups are an active EMG in the bridge position and a so-called Sustaniac on the neck. The former makes quite a racket and is equally suitable for hammer-hard staccato riffs and cutting lead passages. The Sutaniac lives up to its name. Long-lasting sustain with round mids and shimmering highs are its strength.
The Sun Valley is well-balanced and very comfortable to play, quite suitable to fulfil the manufacturer's voltone promises.
