Mahogany as tonal base is a warmly vibrating tropical wood. The full-length neck made of the same material supports this approach and, due to its construction, provides significantly more sustain than bolt-on versions. At the same time, it compensates for the slight losses that a free-floating tremolo naturally entails. The undercut Floyd Rose works flawlessly and allows powerful action up to the complete slackening of the strings without detuning problems.
The SM-1 is a child of the 90s, a so-called "shredder" guitar, which adds a lot of substance to the sound due to the choice of wood and the construction, a real workhorse with that certain something.
