The musician played pretty much all types of guitars that are still significant today: Teles, Les Pauls, ES-335, even an SG could be seen from time to time. In the end, it was the Stratocaster that would remain his main instrument to this day. After the "Brownie", Clapton switched to the "Blackie", a model that he had bated together from three instruments.
Fender honoured the artist as early as 1996 with a signature model that is still offered almost unchanged today. Fender was not afraid to incorporate some remarkable innovations. Besides the Vintage Noiseless pickups invented for Clapton, single coils without annoying humming noises, it was an active Mid Boost, with which you can continuously control the gain of the amplifier without changing the volume. The neck is slightly V-shaped and was modelled on the original. The vibrato system is blocked, as Clapton never uses it.
The "Blackie" Made in USA will not only delight "Slowhand" fans. It is simply an excellent Stratocaster, no more and no less.
