In 1958, the US company Fender introduced the Jazzmaster electric guitar. It was considered the top model of the brand, was even intended as the successor to the Stratocaster and, with its warm sound and elaborate manufacturing, was aimed at the market of jazz musicians who were still playing the hollow-bodies of the competition. However, sales figures fell short of expectations and the Jazzmaster met a similar fate to other futuristic-looking instruments of the late fifties. In 1982, production was even discontinued completely.It was not until the representatives of the alternative and grungrock scene remembered the exalted design and helped it to rise again.Currently, the Jazzmaster is a permanent part of the portfolio of the traditional American brand in four different colours.In 2017, Fender launches the American Professional Series. The neck profile has been changed, the frets have become slimmer and the pickups are specially developed "V-Mod Alnico" pickups, the saddle is made of natural bone - all in all, the manufacturer presents "more vintage" following general trends. The case is the same model that is used for the Elite series.
