History teaches that many a supposedly clever intention achieves something quite different in the end. The Americans' self-declared goal was to create a slimmed-down version of their traditional Telecaster made in the USA with the American Special series, which should be cheaper and interesting for the less well-heeled musician. The result is a completely independent instrument. The thin purple lacquer - polyurethane combines organically with biological substances such as wood - ensures a transparent sound.At the end of 2018, the Performer series succeeds the successful American Specials. Specially developed Yosemite pickups give the sound pressure and fullness. It doesn't bother you that the scope of delivery "only" includes a gig bag, which is of course well lined and robustly finished.
