The first Duosonic was already available in 1956, two years after the Stratocaster appeared. You wouldn't think so when looking at the spacy appearance. Intended as an inexpensive "student"guitar for the entry-level segment, the shape may have been the inspiration for the later Jazzmaster and Jaguar versions.    The current version is anything but a beginner's model. Modernisations such as a 9.5-inch fretboard radius, 22 medium frets and a Duo-Sonic humbucker make the instrument more rocking than its original form, perfectly suitable for preferences in the direction of punk, alternative and grunge.
