The Classic series is oriented towards the late 50s Gibsons. Especially the open pickups present a slightly different sound, which is transparent and fresh. Of course, the basis is still pure Les Paul: mahogany body, maple top and glued neck. The neck is kept slim and offers a smooth playing comfort.
Epiphone has long outgrown the pure beginners' range, even though there are also very simple models in the portfolio. The Les Paul Classic, on the other hand, is a thankful Bühnengitarre with good sound and with decent workmanship. That is worth a lot.
