You don't have to guess long for which style of music the Pro-Mod So-Cal by Charvel was made. About 40 years ago, some manufacturers began to realise the desire of the hard rock and emerging metal scene for "hot rod" high-performance guitars. So-called Superstrats were created, equipped with one or two humbuckers and a free-floating tremolo by Floyd Rose, which was groundbreaking at the time. In contrast to the traditional designs, the construction allows excessive action with dive bombings until the strings go completely slack, without the string tuning going to hell.
Charvel was one of the pioneers of the new design and still delivers excellent playable metal axes with an assertive, extremely powerful sound, like the Pro Mod So-Cal.
