Around 1980, Charvel belonged to those manufacturers who served the market with so-called "super strats". Edward Van Halen (†2020), who carved his instrument with a screwdriver and chisel, was undoubtedly the originator of the idea.
Guitar virtuoso Jake E. Lee pioneered Ratt and Rough Cutt in the 1980s before landing his legendary gig as Ozzy Osbourne's lead guitarist. His career continued with Badlands and now Red Dragon Cartel.Charvel has been there every step of the way, honouring the dynamic guitarist with the latest Jake E Lee Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal, based on the distinctive white "Charvel-ized" instrument the artist has played since he bought it new in 1975.
