Rich Robinson has been at the forefront of rock 'n' roll since his high school days when he co-founded The Black Crowes 30 years ago.Hailed as one of the best live rock acts, The Black Crowes sold over 35 million albums and released several charting singles, including "Hard to Handle" and "She Talks to Angels," for which Robinson wrote the music at age 15.
The Rich Robinson G6136T Magpie features a highly resonant 3-ply maple body with a solid spruce top and 1959-style trestle bracing. A spruce sustain block was glued under the top to prevent too much feedback.
A TV Jones Classic humbucker in the bridge position provides pristine highs and powerful lows with balanced harmonics, while a Broad'Tron BT65 neck pickup enriches the sound with a robust, punchy midrange and a remarkably smooth high end. The knob layout - separate volume controls for bridge and neck, three-way toggle switch, Master Tone and Master Volume with Treble Bleed circuit - allows for a wide variety of tonal variations.
The Raven Burst Blue look with a corresponding application on the pickguard are in keeping with the artist's style. The Bigsby adds a stylish touch.
