Gretsch Guitars G6136SLBP Brian Setzer Phoenix Black

Hollow-Body Electric Guitar
Next to Chat Atkins, Brian Setzer is probably the most important artist who can look back on a long collaboration with the Gretsch company. And so the two names, even though they are quite different musicians, are somehow connected. Because the Stray Cats guitarist already played a '59 Chat Atkins in his early days, which he bought at the age of eight for just a hundred dollars from his saved pocket money - priceless today. With fame came offers, and over the years Setzer had one model or another tailored to his needs. The Japanese-made Black Phoenix joins the class of excellently crafted tone woods characteristic of the brand. Played dry, we can expect a sound spectrum rich in overtones and not too loud. At the amplifier, the guitar comes to life. As if by magic, the notes pearl out of the fingers, no matter which of the two TV-Jones pickups is selected. And almost magically, the player is tempted to follow the master's lead and spice up rockabilly licks with chicken picking. The Black Phoenix is without question a high-end instrument. Those who get involved with it will have a lot of fun with it and will be richly rewarded in the end.
