With a smaller body, chambered centre block and Bigsby vibrato, Gretsch presents a guitar that is less feedback-sensitive, but with more output and dynamics, recommending itself to modern playing styles. The tone has a lot of punch and unfolds afterwards with a pleasant timbre. Technically, the current models, which were previously released as a kind of test balloon in a limited edition, are beyond reproach. Chords and virtuoso lines come off smoothly, even in the upper registers thanks to the cutaway curaway. The Bigsby may be considered the icing on the cake. Naturally, no extreme dive bombings are possible, but thanks to its precise execution, it is always enough for interesting accents around the played note.
