For over 70 years, Epiphone has been building jazz guitars, of which the Broadway is now available in stores in a modernized new edition. A spruce top provides excellent vibration behavior, which is adequately transmitted by the proven Alnico Classic Pro. The tone is warm and round with a healthy dose of tangy overtones, which may be due not least to the maple used for body and sides.
The workmanship is top-notch and the looks are a real feast for the eyes for fans. Gold hardware, mother-of-pearl block inlays, and a flawless finish should satisfy even the most discerning jazz musician. The slim neck fits well in the hand and thanks to the generous cutaway, the instrument can be played effortlessly up to the upper registers. The classic design shows the way here, which styles are best served.
