Created in collaboration with Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer, the seven-string APEX-30 has "features that Shaffer has tested and refined again and again to suit his sonic vision. With a Nyatoh body and maple top, the APEX30 is light and resonant. The three-piece maple Wizard II-7 neck and ebony fingerboard offer incredible response and feel - ideal for fast riffs and heavy power chords. And with a pair of DiMarzio Blaze humbuckers in the neck and bridge, the APEX30 is designed for a heavy, expansive and expressive sound.
The APEX30's EverTune bridge is a purely mechanical system. Small springs keep the strings constantly tensioned for long-lasting tuning stability and incredibly accurate intonation. Moreover, the pitch change can be adjusted when pulling the strings.
The DiMarzio pickups used are very modern with well-developed mids. Especially the 7th string gets a lot of pressure and assertiveness.
The APEX30 gives a comfortable playing feeling, as it is known from Ibanez. The slim and very comfortable Wizard II-7 neck is ideal for lightning-fast runs and arpeggios as well as for playing out power chords with a crisp attack.
