Vox VT20X
The amp, easily identifiable by its large VOX logo and gold diamond-patterned front cover, comes in three power levels, 20, 40 and 100W. All three have the same chassis and differ only in size and power amp output.The VTX has 11 amplifier types, which can be combined with three groups of effects, all of which can be stored on four channels (8 places on 2 bars). Here the VTXs are quite convincing. The amp models, which can be selected via a rotary control, are easily recognisable and clearly distinguishable from each other. The tone development is direct and roused and the high-gain sounds are also pleasing. The Röhre works quite well and takes the digital edge off the sound.
The 20er is more than a ¨bungs-Combo. It sounds like much more than it should be able to do. The sound is room-fillingly powerful and makes the Knirps also interesting as a session and recording amp.
The budget-friendly price is inexplicable in view of the possibilities.
