Vox AC30 S1 2-Tone Black Maroon

Vox has been building guitar amplifiers for over 50 years. Early on, the first model, an AC15, became popular with bands like the Beatles and the Shadows. The Bühnen became bigger, the bands became louder, so it became necessary to launch something more powerful, especially as the American competition came up with powerful bolides. Today, the AC30 is inseparably linked with a considerable part of music history. Yardbirds, The Who, Brian May and others helped the amp to fame and glory.The AC30 S1 sees itself in the tradition of the old Combos. However, the designers have slimmed down the concept considerably. The S1 gets by with just one tweeter. The archaic front panel with six inputs, two separate channels and a tremolo effect also had to give way. Instead, the amp is reduced to the essentials. The most significant change is probably the gain control. Whereas with the old models the user had to open up all the controls in order to adjust the Röhren to a more moderate setting, this can now be done via the gain control. Despite all the reduction, the player does not have to do without the typical Vox sound. The circuit is based on the so-called Top Boost channel of the Vetrane. A very authentic spring reverb sounding digital reverb completes the possibilities of the amplifier.
The biggest gain, however, for Vox fans and interested parties should be the narrower dimensions and the significantly lower weight.
To give individuality more freedom, the contemporary AC30S1 is also available in a limited edition in the trendy colour combination of black and maroon.
