You will search in vain for a clean channel. Since it is an amplifier equipped with two KT88 glass pistons, it is quite possible for the experienced player to move the colleague to more moderate sounds via pickup selection and potentiometer, if one needs them.
Channel 1 otherwise behaves quite demurely. At medium gain setting we get a slightly English inflected sound in the direction of hard rock. Depth, more pounds and presence can be used to get a lot out of the clean 3-band tone control. Channel 2 provides even more gain and gave the impression in the test that it was being fattened up a bit.
The engineers had a very special idea when they integrated a fuzz effect for both channels. Here it clearly goes in the direction for which the quoted Prince of Darkness stands. Tons of dark riffs and smacking lead lines belong to the repertoire of the Doom Amp. A little caution is required with the corresponding control, so that the sound is not mashed too much.
The EOD88 presents itself as a powerful R&O amp with considerable power reserves. The distortion sounds are broadband, but not too sharp. With a little skill it is quite versatile, if you can do without ultra-clean funk and jazz chords;
