For the 2017 summer season, Yamaha has reworked its tried and tested BB series and presents us with a range of instruments for beginners, advanced players and professionals. First of all, it is noticeable that the models appear a little more visually pleasing, either through a slightly playful pickguard or through the lack of frame plates around the pickups. The lacquered headstock complements the tasteful approach. More importantly, the composition of the pickups has been worked on. The 400 series, available in both four and five-string versions, is equipped with a solid alder body. The well-balanced tone is perfectly reproduced by the Alnico pickups in J-P style and makes the bass an appreciative tool for B&ühne, rehearsal room and studio. Yamaha's build quality is always at a high level. The current instruments are no exception.
