When the Ibanez Soundgear bass appeared on the market over 30 years ago, it stood for the credo: "Everything but traditional." The bass was light and curvy, had a slim neck and versatile, active electronics on board. Features that the electric bass pioneers in the 50s would not have foreseen. The essence of Soundgear's philosophy has always been that modern basses can produce any sound from punk to funk for players who prefer a slim neck!
The SRMS805 is a multi-scale bass where the frets are split, the strings have a different scale length and thus an equalised tension. This leads to more balance in the tone. If you play a MultiScale for the first time, you will be surprised how quickly the hands change.
