In 1960 the Fender Jazz Bass was introduced and soon outstripped the Precision Bass due to its variety of sound, good playability and balanced ergonomics. In the mid-60s, company founder Leo Fender developed a five-string version, the FenderV. In 2017, Fender introduced the American Professional series, which is considered the successor to the Standard. The neck profile has been changed, the sides have become slimmer and the pickups are now newly developed V-Mod Alnico pickups, the saddle is made of natural bone - Fender presents us with "more vintage" following general trends.
