The Elektra series offers the well-known Sandberg quality at an affordable price. This is possible because the individual components are manufactured in South Korea, while the final assembly and quality control take place at Sandberg in Germany. The maple neck has a very slim profile, so it is easy to play. The Pau Ferro fingerboard has 22 frets and a zero fret, so you don't have to worry about differences in sound between fretted and unfretted keys. Six screws ensure a solid connection with the basswood body and thus a good vibration transmission, this is supported by the solid bridge with three-dimensional adjustment possibilities for each string.
The tone is picked up by two Sandberg-designed single-coils with Alnico magnets, whose positioning is reminiscent of 70s jazz basses, so the bridge pickup produces a biting, funky sound, while the neck pickup sounds full and warm. With the active two-band tone control, the sound of the instrument can be varied to a great extent, so that it fits into every musical situation. All in all, the Elektra series offers a modern and independent interpretation of the popular jazz bass, thanks to manufacturing in Korea and assembly in Germany for a reasonable price and high-quality workmanship.
