Sterling, as a division of MusicMan, brings faithful replicas of the high-priced American instruments onto the market. The SS4 is a shorscale version of the famous four-stringer with cult status. With its shortened scale length of 30 inches, the Ray SS4 appeals to young aspiring artists and musicians with smaller hands. With a passive boost and a single humbucking pickup with neodymium magnets and quite high output power, the Short Scale StingRay offers all kinds of variety. The pickup configuration includes parallel, true single-coil and series modes for varied, tonal options.
Well-balanced and with a powerful punch, the model meets demands that clearly go beyond the entry-level range.
