LTD, the Korean ESP offshoot, is certainly capable of building attractive instruments for the upper entry-level range. The AP-204 is a solid 4-string bass, which has a lot of warmth and power in the low range due to its solid mahogany. The 2-band active tone control, which is not a matter of course in this price segment, allows for the addition of assertive harmonics. The ergonomics, which are based on American models, offer the best playing comfort and the PJ pickups promise a lot of variety and expression possibilities, making the Ap-204 a rock-solid workhorse not only for hobby bassists.
