The SR500 series is aimed at those bassists who are looking for a wiry and, middle-heavy sound. The compact and pleasantly rounded okume body together with the five-stripe and therefore very stiff jatoba/walnut neck ensure a fast attack and long sustain. The two humbuckers convert this solid tone into an electrical signal, which can be further processed with an active three-band tone control. The EQ also offers the possibility to switch between the mid frequencies 250, 450 and 700 Hz, which are important for the mix.
Thanks to the narrow neck, the bass can be played quickly and comfortably. There is no top-heaviness. When standing, the bass settles into a comfortable position and the low, well-distributed weight means that even long rehearsals or gigs are no problem.
The SR500s offer a lot of rock bass in typical Ibanez workmanship at a sympathetic price.
