The Shorty Bass is an ideal instrument for travelling, for example, it fits into the hand luggage compartments of most aeroplanes together with its gig bag, and at 2.5 kg it is also very light. However, this does not mean that the little one is not big: a powerful sounding humbucker from our own production supports the round but clear sound thanks to the short scale length. Unusually for Höfners, the Shorty also has an adult string spacing of 19 mm at the bridge, so fingerstyle bassists in particular can take it in their stride. Combined with Höfner's well-known manufacturing quality, this makes for an ideal holiday companion.
