The SG bass is constructed according to its historical original, so mahogany for the neck and body is a solid foundation for a strong tone, which is perfectly implemented by the Alnico II humbuckers. With two volume and two treble controls, the tone can be shaped in such a way that a wide range of timbres is possible, from deep bass thrust to wiry brilliance, but all with a certain warmth due to the short scale length of only approx. 78 cm and the resulting lower string tension as well as the Alnico II humbuckers. The Grover Shamrock tuners provide a high degree of tuning stability and the Babicz 3-point bridge allows perfect adjustment of string action and octave purity. The neck with its rounded D-profile is easy to play and also the short scale length contributes to the fact that even non-bass players or young beginners feel comfortable on the instrument right away.
Overall, the SG-Bass is an interesting instrument for all those who are looking for a bass with a cool look and retro sound.
